Country, Folk & Blues Kozol’c is searching for solo musicians and bands, that would like to play at CFB 2019!
Are you a solo musician or a band that plays mostly country, folk and/or blues music? Would you like to play at an authentic hay barn with other fine musicians and even get paid for it? Then send in your application by the 26th of April 2019 to cfbkozolc@gmail.com or to the following address: Umetniški Klub 101, Gledališka pot 1, 2390 Ravne na Koroškem!
From the applications, we will select five solo musicians or bands, that will play at the CFB contest on the 14th of June 2019 at the legendary KMKC Kompleks in Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenia. At the end of the night, the CFB jury will determine the best act, that will then play at Country, Folk & Blues Kozol’c 2019, on the 31th of October, 2019!
The CFB jury consists of:
Milan Kamnik (carinthian singer-songwriter, carinthian country symbol, main organiser of CFB),
Miha Erič (Wacky Blues Professors, SMET, author of CFB graphic design),
Mojca Kamnik (professor of music, main organizser of CFB)
Natalija Šepul Erič (academic musician, CEO of Zavod Orbita)
Aljaž Lipuš (music producer at Radio Center)
What can you gain?
– A chance to play 30 min of your own music in one of the best music clubs in Slovenia – KMKC Kompleks in Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenia on the 14th of June 2019
o The CFB contest covers food, drinks and travelling expenses in value of 50€ for each finalist
– Jury’s choice winner will get a chance to play at the Country, Folk & Blues Kozol’c 2019, on the 31th of October and get 300€ and food and drinks!
– Audience’s choice will get a chance to play in KMKC Kompleks again (the date and fee in agreement with organisers!)
We will appraise:
– Stage presence (self-confidence, interaction with audience, liveliness… )
– Technical quality (intonation, sound, rhythm synchronisation… )
– Musicality (feeling for dynamics… )
Special references:
– The Music Acts with original music will be favoured!
How to apply:
1. Send link(s) from Youtube, Soundcloud (or other internet music platforms) of at least three songs (one of them has to be live performed – it can also be recorded on rehearsals); you can also send mp3 files of songs or sending a CD or an USB.
2. Write a short presentation of your act in at least five sentences – who you are, where you are from, what kind of music you are playing, your strongest influences, former references, how long have you been playing etc.
o Add contact information (telephone number and Email)
o Add at least two pictures of your act
3. A Technical rider (What instruments assembles your act? What kind of technical equipment do you bring to the concert? What kind of technical help do you need on the concert etc.)
